I bought this car in 1997 and played around a lot on the street..took out the FI added a carb and suspension to put it in the 12's. As every racer I wanted more so I pulled the 302 and put a 351 based engine in with some home ported twisted wedge heads and was running 11 ohs.... switched to some victor juniors with more port work and a solid cam tweaked the suspension some more and was running 10.60's on motor, threw a 100 shot and radials on and was going 10 ohs @ 135... this is where I decided to pull the engine and do some more internal work, up the comression to 14:1 had Ed Curtis do a cam and setof AFR heads more suspension work and added a mighty Mite c4 this resulted in 9.30's @ 150 weighing in a 3200+ pounds on BFG 275's with 60 ft's in the 1.30's... at the dyno playing around the car made 737 rwh on a 250 jet and 829 rwh on the 350 jets.... At the first Shakedown at e-town I was testing for radial and managed to go 5.70's @ 126 to the eighth mile leaving soft before breaking the JW bell ending my year racing... I then moved onto working full time on Manny Buginga's super street car and never pushed the car faster... This was a pure stock suspension car using eibac springs up front with stock K-member and UPR bolt in stuff out back..
Thanks, my brother and I painted the red and black scheme in 2 days the weekend before bowling green race..... I had to crush the car though, when I removed the k-member to change it o the UPR set up the frame rails sprung about 3 inches.. The only way to fix it was to cut out through floor frame connectors and the cage and try to straighten it, I got a new chassis instead. I didn't want anyone to have the car so I had the car crushed.
I'm friends with Nick on FB but I don't think we ever met, probably only live 5 miles away
I live off of route 12 by the Plainfield townline..... so 89 or 91 with back tracking..... I plan on going to the Speedway...I'm hoping to have the vette done by then but I don't think I'll race it until I have the TKO 600 in it, the muncie is kinda weak
