This car has been my ongoing project for about 10 years now... She started out as a six cylinder automatic, nicotine yellow shitwagon that I drove everyday from Attleboro to Brockton for college.  Later the hot rod bug hit, and I upgraded the car, first to a 350, then with aluminum heads and intake, a posi rear with 3.42's, then with a muncie 4 speed, then with a mini blower and nitrous.  We also added a 4 point cage and a "spider web" grille I fabbed up.  Later we decided to really lose our minds, and build a custom frame and tub the car.  We spent a lot of time on the frame getting it perfect, and all the while we had many potential powertrains for it.  At first we planned on the same 350 with twin turbos and a Tremec TKO, but then later decided on a blown 350 for simplicity.  Just when we thought we had that all figured out, a friend gave me a ring that his boss was looking to sell a 632 ci block along with crank, intake, nitrous system and carbs on the cheap.  Even though this set me back a bit, its nice to know that this @#$%% motor is so big that I won't have an excuse to upgrade to bigger later (I hope!)  Of course we all know that a 632 will chew up and barf out a Tremec TKO, so the trans plan changed to a Powerglide.  Even though the 632 and 'glide are normally what most would consider drag only faire, this car is a street car first and drag car second, and as a result I am making a less "vicious" car that can handle street duty but still put down some respectable numbers.

My real goal with the car is to make something that appears to be all out drag race lunacy, but with a little more manors for the street.  The car will have a full cage and an all aluminum interior, along with all fiberglass body panels, including the doors which I had custom made and will somehow try to make work for the street.  The motor will have an all-out drag feel, with monster Dart Big Chief heads and the rare Dart tunnel ram with dual King Demons that give the motor a Pro Stock feel.  I plan to have a Gear Vendors unit on the 'glide for highway cruising, and I am building this motor around a streetable 6,500 RPM redline.  It has been a long slow road, especially between recently buying a house, but now that life has calmed down I can focus on getting this beasty done.  One of my other big goals with this car is to build the engine, trans and rear end completely myself, other than the mahcine work which I need to farm out.  I work at a parts store so my funds are limited, but I am in no huge rush and will wait out the project a little to make sure it is done the way I vision it.  Anyways, here is some pics of the progress over the course of the last 5 years.  These are not in order of accomplishment, but you get the idea
